IPhone Pictures and Photo Apps

I thought I would share some of my recent IPhone pictures.  Little moments that I have captured of life. art and of course my little muse.  It is amazing having the phone and being able to take pictures at any given moment.  I have been trying to be better at carrying my Nikon with me but it is just so convenient because the phone always seems to be there.  Some apps I love to manipulate my pictures with are Infinicam. Camera Bag. Picfx. 100 Camera. Fotoffiti and Instagram.  Another app I have fallen in love with is Photo365 (image above).  It is a place to document your life in photographs.  Everyday you enter a photo for that day.  It is great to look back at blocks of time in photographs.  I am not necessarily a writer so this is a great way to journal my days in image form.

L.E.A.F.-Lake Eden Arts Festival

The Lake Eden Arts Festival has become a tradition for us.  It is a multi cultural art. music and outdoor festival held in Black Mountain every Fall and Spring.  It has something for everyone and is a true celebration to the arts.  It is hard to capture the stunning beauty of the surroundings and the color of all the leaves.  That in itself was enough.  The music, people and activities were an added bonus.  Supporting the arts is a definite must on our list and this festival has such a trickle down effect on the organizations it benefits outside of the actual festival.  If you have a chance to check it out you really should.  You can camp, rent a cabin or buy day passes to accommodate your desires.  It sells out and keeps getting huge recognition so if you are interested
in getting tickets you should do it early!

Jeremy Russell's abstracts fill the space this month with beautiful layers and intensity.  I have been waiting for the perfect moment to wrap art around the walls and when he brought these pieces in I knew we had found that moment.  He lives in Asheville now and is planning on opening studio and gallery space in the River District there.  His pieces are perfectly priced and of super quality.

Laura Vasseur brought in these stunning pieces that have a unique transported feel.  Laura is a graphic designer who has found her niche in between commissions with oil painting and creating a beautiful haze for the viewer to get lost in.

Cutie's new art work on display.  She now makes specific pieces and collections for her space which is just too much!

The space is really open this month.  It is a nice change from having it filled to the brim before.  On the docket for November is a show by Jessica Moss,  This Could be REVISITED.  The opening reception will be on Friday, November 4th.  Marian Mereba- singer, songwriter and Elon Shomaker-Solid Gold DJ will be performing at the opening reception. I will post more on the upcoming show next week.

Handmade Holidays begins November 22nd.  You can support your local artists and buy beautiful gifts at great prices.  Spread cheer globally, support your economy locally.

Disco Party at Studio K

Our good friend who also professionally resides in 2024 had her birthday bash in the space this weekend.  We turned Studio K into Studio 71 including a red velvet rope and a VIP champagne room. It was a blast and it was great to take the disco ball back to its roots.

The Old School show came down this week and I installed new works in the space.  Jeremy Russell a Charlotte native who now lives in Asheville and Laura Vasseur another local artist have some great pieces in the space this month.  I will post pictures this week of the new installation and a closer look into their works.

Elizabeth Home Tour Dinner

We were grateful to have the Elizabeth Home Tour Dinner in our space on Saturday.  2024 was filled with participants from the home tour.  It was our first seated dinner in the studio and it could not have been better.  The people, food and ambiance created such an amazing night.  Thanks for letting us be  apart of it and your great neighborhood.
